Welcome to Hobart Hair Lab, where you will find Tasmania’s first intelligent hair restoration solution. At the newest branch of Hobart Plastic Surgery, founded by Dr Cameron Keating, Hobart Hair Lab offers consultations for the ARTAS Robotic Hair Transplant and NeoGraft Hair Transplant procedures. Earlier hair transplant solutions involve large scars, longer downtime, and an operation. ARTAS and NeoGraft are procedures performed in our clinic and leaves no linear scar and is a minimally invasive procedure performed under local anaesthetic.
If you are interested in finding out more or booking a hair restoration consultation, feel free to contact our helpful team at Hobart Plastic Surgery.
This procedure is minimally invasive which aims to protect your existing healthy hair and leave you with a natural appearance in both your donor area and your new implantation area. This allows you to wear your hair at any length.
All results differ, but aim to leave you with natural results, noticeably thicker hair that is permanent. Growth will start around six months with continued growth over time.
Using the ARTAS robotic method enables greater precision and speed, making the procedure faster than other more manual hair transplant methods.
Thinning hair, receding hairline, losing your hair, bald spot.
The number one cause for hair loss amongst females is androgenetic alopecia or Female Pattern Hair Loss (FPHL). 50% of women will experience some form of noticeable hair loss in their lifetime, you are not alone.
NeoGraft uses minimally invasive follicular unit extraction (FUE) and implantation technology with an automated handpiece to harvest individual hair follicles from areas that consist of terminal hair which are naturally resistant to hair loss. The areas consisting of terminal hair are usually found at the back of the head above the nape of the neck.
NeoGraft then implants those grafts where you’re losing hair and where they will regrow as healthy, full functioning hair. Neograft automated FUE hair restoration procedure does not leave a linear scar, is more comfortable and requires minimal downtime and recovery. This device works for all hair types, males, and females, alike, and gives natural-looking results.
Based on your desired results, hair loss, texture, density and quality of the harvested donor hair, Dr Keating will design a customise hairline that is natural-looking and appropriate for your situation using the NeoGraft site-making tool.
FUE hair restoration means no linear scar, more comfort, less recovery time.
NeoGraft is also for the restoration of:
These procedures use the same harvesting technique for grafts in the occipital area on the back of the scalp where terminal hair resides. The donor areas are the face, for a personalised, new beard, and the eyebrows for personalised, new, fuller look.
Who are these patients?
Patients who present for beard transplants are looking to increase their facial hair look, or fill patchy areas they have. Patients who present for eyebrow transplants are wanting to thicken what they have already, or re-build what is lost.
ARTAS iXi was designed to treat Male Pattern Baldness. ARTAS iXi can be performed on almost anyone with hair loss that has black or brown, relatively straight hair.
NeoGraft candidates are female or male patients, with a receding hairline, bald patches, or who have a lack of eyebrow hair or beard hair. All hair types are suited for NeoGraft.
No referral is required to have a hair transplant at Hobart Hair Lab. Referrals are definitely accepted and can help with the history taking process of your hair loss journey. If you contact our expert reception staff they will be ablet to book your for either a complimentary 15-minutes phone consultation with our nurse to learn more or book you in for a 1-hour face-to-face nurse consultation in our clinic on Argyle Street.
During your initial consultation with our nurse, you will complete a full analysis of your expectations, history of hair loss, family history of hair loss and the nurse will take 2D images of your hairline for reference. Hair loss should be stabilised before treatments are undertaken, as losing hair after treatments will negatively affect the hairline.
You will be contacted shortly after your nurse consultation and you may be required to have a full blood assessment, followed by a consultation with our Hair Restoration Doctor, Dr Cameron Keating, Specialist Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon.
